A lot of the time, we don’t think to stop and write a book review when we’ve finished reading—I didn’t use to—but, there are many good reasons to do so! Let’a jump right in and talk about them!
They Really Help Authors’ Rankings
Reviews are very important for authors! They help boost the rankings of a book on Amazon, Goodreads, and other platforms even more than sales much of the time! The best way you can help an author is to write an honest review for the book.
You Can Share Your Opinion
Did you just read the best book ever? The worst? Something kind of meh? Why not let others readers know how you feel? Reviews help a lot of readers decide whether to invest in a book, and writing them is a great way to share what you think! I really like writing reviews for this reason, especially when nobody I know has read/can discuss the book!
They Can Be Really Simple
A lot of people tell me they don’t write reviews because they can’t think of what to write, or it would take too long. But, reviews can be really short and simple! Something as easy as “I liked it” or “I didn’t like it” is great, and will help authors just the same as a long one! It’s the number of reviews that helps authors, not the length, and even a short review can help get your opinion out there!
In short, reviews can be a great way to get your opinion out there, and they really help out authors!
